Big Brown Ale aged on palo santo
wood from Paraguay. This beer is a 12% abv, highly roasty, and malty
brown ale aged on the wood of the Palo Santo tree from Paraguay. Palo
Santo means "holy tree" and it's wood has been used in South American
wine-making communities. We were lucky enough to get our hands on 20
blocks of the super-dense wood and the wood was added to the ageing
tank after fermentation, 12% alcohol

Four generations of the Moortgat

Pours an extremely dark ruby brown
with minimal head after a minute. The nose smells like my mother’s
chocolate chip cookies. Touch of cherries. Sugar is there, but that is
part of momma’s chocolate chip cookies. Malty subdued flavor that has a
caramelized sugar edge to it, 6.5% alcohol

Nice golden appearance
but the thing that got me right off was the nose. This is definitely
the malt brother of the Quad, which I love. Fruit and light toffee,
banana, taste is very close, though reduced some, 8% alcohol

Pours hazy straw color. nice
retentive lacing of a white head. aromas of slight spicy hops, buttery
and citrusy. Taste notes of citrus hops, slight spicy hops, a little
yeasty taste in the back of the mouth. light bodied, low to medium
carbonation. For an organic poison, pretty damn tasty
saison, 7.5% alcohol

Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian
farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a

Biere de Miel is bottle
conditioned and contains only water, barley and wheat, honey, hops and
yeast. It has a marvelously delicate scent of honey, balnaced by a dry

Samuel Smiths Oatmeal Stout
Originally a drink for lactating
mothers, oatmeal stout was described as nutritional on early labels.
Oats are in the same family as barley, and a small addition yields
great flavor. Popular in the late 1800’s, the last oatmeal stout was
brewed before the First World War until Samuel Smith reintroduced this
style in 1980. Almost opaque, with an unusually silky texture
